Dallas surgery

What a week it's been! Dallas has been having an ongoing battle with his right ear since September. Somehow fluid got in the bone that is right behind the ear and stayed there. A couple doctors, a tube put in his ear and taken out, the doctor finally decided it was time for surgery. It was a pretty intense scary surgery. The doctors cut his ear and moved in forward so that they could drill into his bone behind the ear and remove all of the fluid that has been built up in there. The doctors even placed alarms near certain nerves so they would not get close to hitting one because if they did they could have paralyzed his face or he could have lost sense of taste. The surgery was only suppose to take and hour and a half and it ended up taking three hours because there was more fluid in there then the doctor had expected. I went with Dallas and waited there so after 2 hours I was starting to get nervous. Of course we had watched Grey's Anatonmey and Private Practice the night before and there are always complications in those tv shows so I was starting to think the worst. Finally the doctor came out and told me how the surgery went and that once Dallas woke up I could go in there. It turned out to be a long day we got there and 10 and didn't leave until 6:30. When I got in to see Dallas he did not look so good. He still had his sense of humor though. The doctor and nurse were telling him how to recover and Dallas goes so I guess I can't go race dirt bikes tonight huh? Leave it to Dallas to want to go and do something like that afterwards a surgery. The nurse told him that he should take a week off of work, can't lift over 20 pounds, and wont be able to hear out of that ear for a month. Dallas was pretty naseous so the nurse gave him Phenegren which puts you to sleep. We stayed until he was awake enough to leave and then we came home where he puked most of the night. I have only seen Dallas throw up one other time since we have been married, so it's always weird to see him sick. He was funny though because I made him soup and he had fruit snacks and threw it all up, and he was surprised that it looked exactly the same as when it went in. I laughed because that's how it was for me for the first 5 months of both my pregnancies. Dallas slept most of that day and the next day he was starting to feel better. He over did it Sunday. Dallas can't seem to sit still he has such a hard time not being able to do anything. He goes stir crazy. I was betting that he would go back to work Tuesday even though he should be taking off a week of work but Dallas went back to work Tuesday. You can't keep Dallas down for long even after drilling into his head!

Dallas' last race before he gets surgery!
Here Dallas is waiting forever for his surgery.
Here he is after his surgery not looking so hot.
Cohen being a little helper, he wouldn't let Dallas out of his sight. Cohen was cute he went to the store with Grandma to get Dallas some medicine and Jello and he comes home and says look Dad we got you medicine and jello.
Dallas has been telling me that Kenzley is ready to eat, which she is. I have been putting it off because I can't believe how fast she is growing up. I finally gave in and we fed her some rice. Kenzley is always watching us eat and you can tell she wants to be apart of it as well. She did pretty good and kept some in her mouth.

Monday, me and the kids tried to stay out of Dallas' hair so that he could get some rest. Cohen had a play date with Zack. Zack came over to our house and they jumped, rode bikes, and of course played with trucks and trailers. Cohen loves playing with other kids so much. Then Grandma came down to play with him and they had fun too.
Cohen loves to lay in his blow up toy while it blows up and sinks. He gets in and out of it and turns it on and off.

My cute little kids. I can't get enough of them!
Daddy and Kenzley playing. I love when she watches her dad, she is all smiles and giggles. It is so cute!
Nose kisses.

I need to journal some of Cohen's funny stories. At church Kenzley was getting a little fussy, so I stood to the side of where we were sitting and Cohen gestures me to come back and started couting 1,2,3 I was laughing. Whenever he goes to far or to where we shouldn't I motion with my finger for him to come here and start counting to 3. So he thought that I had gone to far and that I better come back or I was going to time out. Cohen likes to put me in time out when I start acting out of hand.
Another thing he did which mortified me but is a funny story. Cohen was playing with our neighbors kids while we were outside and the neighbors were working in the yard, planting vegetables and flowers and such. Later that evening they had gone in and we were still out playing. Cohen was showing Grammy how he drives his black truck. Well our neighbors had made trenches and mounds for where they had planted their vegetables. Cohen drove over there and thought it was a little moto track. He drove right through their garden! I was mortified. I ran over there holding Kenz through their sprinklers and tried to pull him out even though his truck his pretty heavy. Finally I told him to get out and I got in and drove his truck home which he was not very happy that I was driving it. Needless to say he got in quite a bit of trouble and had to go apologize to the neighbors. I felt bad because I got pretty mad. I felt bad sense they had been working in their yard all day trying to make it nice then my kid goes bombing through their garden. But I can't be too mad because Cohen doesn't know what a garden is and it really looked like a little dirt bike track for him. Hopefully he now knows the difference between the two! We have so much fun with Cohen. The other day we drove our razor while Cohen drove his truck and followed us over to the park. He is a good little driver! It has been a pretty busy week for us. Hopefully Dallas's ear will continue to heal and he can hear out of it soon and get back to his crazy fun life!

Tulip festival, Super Cross, Potty training, and rolling over!

Me and two of my girlfriends from highschool Nikki, and Stephanie we took our kids to the Tulip Festival. Of course with Utah weather, the day didn't turn out so nice. It was really windy and we couldn't enjoy it as much as we would like. Here are a couple of pictures we did hurry and get before we blew away. I wish I would have gotten a picture of all of us! We had alot of fun and it is always nice to go on play date with other moms! Hope we can do some more!

Isn't he handsome! Love this little guy and I love what a good big brother he is to Kenz!

Daddy and Cohen snuggling between daddies races. He is doing a good job this year! We have alot of fun being able to go and watch him!
The next day after the guys dirtbike race we went to supercross. Cohen was so excited to go. It's all he could talk about for the whole week. Cohen, Dallas and Josh went earlier that day and then I met up with them that night. Again the weather did not cooperate. It rained on us most of the time with some sleet and a little bit of snow, but we still had a blast!
Cohen and Josh waiting for the races to begin.
Cohen and Daddy!
The family before it started raining.
Cohen trying to catch the rain in his mouth!
Here is a picture of it coming down!
Now we are all pretty wet!
I think that is Ryan Dungy. It was a pretty good race. Kevin Windham killed it. He was lapping the person in 4th place. He was amazing! Cohen did really well, he never cried or whined or anything. He had a great time and as did all of us. Granted it would have been better if the weather was sunny but oh well!
Kenzley started rolling over and when I was trying to change her diaper she rolled over on me. She is such a fun baby! We love her to death and can get enough of her!
Look at her cute little bubble bum!
Also this we we decided to tackle potty training. It definitely is probably my least favorite thing about being a mom. We started Sunday and nothing made it into the potty until Tuesday night. Monday Cohen held it pretty much all day and then Wednesday came and I pumped him full of liquids and he stood in front of the potty and went! After alot and I mean alot of accidents and cleaning up. Our house probably smells like urine but oh well. Cohen has gone a couple of times now and I hope that it only gets better! Here he is showing how excited he is that he made it in the potty. Afterwards we do the potty dance, he gets a sticker and a treat. It is a pretty big deal!

This is where we have been most of the week!

It has been a pretty big week in the Jackman house between Cohen going in the potty and my baby girl rolling over! I can't believe she is already rolling over. My baby is growing up.
