Bear Lake and 24th of July

On July 16th me and the kids decided we needed a quick vacation so I asked my Grandma if it was alright if we came up to Bear Lake for a couple of days. She said yes and off we went and boy was it a nice relaxing couple of days. We didn't even want to come back to our regular life. As much as we missed Dallas it was nice to have a mini vacation. The weather was suppose to be thunderstorms the whole time we were there but luckily it turned out to be perfect. The first night there was a rain storm but I loved it because it was so beautiful. It's funny the older you get how you look at things completely different. I remember going up to Bear Lake as a kid just wanting to play as much as possible and getting annoyed at my parents who all they seemed to want to do is sit on the porch and look at the beauty or take a nap. Now 10 or so years later here I am wanting to do exactly what they did and fully taking in the beauty that is up there and now I have my own little rug rats who all they want to do it play! Who would have thought?!
Here we are playing in the water and on the beach. The water was surprisingly warm.

My kids kept getting up on these pillars to perform for us. It was hilarious

We played alot of games! And my grandparents were always so nice to participate and play the games with the kids. And we played alot of card games too! I love playing games!

The first night I noticed Cohen had a little bump on his knee but I didn't think much of it and assumed it was a mosquito bite because he swell up bigger than mine do. Well the next day it had swelled up so big you couldn't even see his knee. This picture doesn't even do it justice. It was crazy how swollen it was. I got him Benadryl and it didn't seem to go down so I called the doctors and they wanted us to come in but we were out of town and the very next day we would come home he had his kindergartin shots. So I decided to watch it and wait it out and finally the next day the swelling started to go down.

This day the kids got a lot more daring in the water and they were loving swimming in it. Cohen even tried to do a front flip of the booey which wasn't too smart of an idea.

Kenzley talking to Grandpa Mark on the phone.
Kenzley giving Grandpa some mud pie that she was making.

 Shooting the Bear Lake Monster.

 Playing more games.
My grandpa took both kids for a couple of fourwheeler rides which of course they loved.

Loving her sad face because it was time to go home.

Can I just say how much I love these two so much. I also love the fact that they are two best friends. Even though they may bicker a little bit they love eachother so much. Kenzley literally follows Cohen everywhere he goes and she says and does everything he does. Hence why she is a little bit more of a tom boy then a girlie girl but I would not have it any other way. I hope that they stay best friends like this forever!

Cohen and Kenzley and Great Grandma and Grandpa Cottrell

Grandpa asking Cohen what his favorite part of the trip was and of course he said it was riding the four wheeler with grandpa. I was a little surprised but that I thought nope I'm not that's what my kids love to do is ride four wheelers and dirt bikes. Funny kids!
Giving hugs goodbye. Thank you so much for letting us come and spend a couple of days up there terrorizing your place and talking your ear off. Between me and Kenzley talking so much they are probably ready for some quiet. Kenzley is just like the energizer bunny and kept going and going! We had so much fun and we really needed a quick vacation!
The very next day we had Cohen's kindergartin doctor appointment. He wasn't thrilled about going but I said he had to go or he couldn't go to kindergartin so he gave in. He was so good for the first part of the appointment. He answered all of the doctors questions and let them prick his finger for blood and was fine. All the while Kenzley kept talking and talking. The nurse thought she was adorable and I think she wore the doctor out! The doctor asked Cohen if Kenzley was always this sassy and we said Yes! When he left I said we will see you in 6 months for her and he said he would prepare himself and take naps so he could keep up with her! Are all girls this full of it?!
They gave Cohen this cute little kindergartin passport, a goodie bag and a new tshirt. Here he is right before the shots. Both me and Kenzley held his hand. I had to turn away cause I cannot watch shots and then he started crying so of course I start crying because I feel so bad. I kept telling him sorry and asked if he was alright and he says no I am not fine. I felt so bad
This is the after. He didn't want a picture but I couldn't resist it since his attitude went from completely happy to completely not.
Cohen had some of his friends over one day and they wanted to play just dance and they chose the robot song. I had to grab my camera I was laughing to hard watching them all do the robot dance! I love having these boys over they are all so much fun!
Now that Dallas' feet are feeling a little bit better from his last wreck he wanted to redeem himself and race so we all went up for the night and both boys raced and then we finished it up with fireworks. Cohen is a very cautious rider I guess you could say. We need to work on him to be more aggressive. He still does great and doesn't crash and he loves it so that is all that matters. Dallas did pretty he started off with the hole shot but then slowly found him back to the end of the line. But he didn't wreck and that's all we wanted! Is two safe riders! Cohens Grandma Connie came, Grandma and Grandpa Jackman came and his two cousins. We all had a great time watching the boys race and the firework show is amazing. It is one of our favorite firework shows to go to. There is not too big of a crowd and the fireworks are right above you and really good. It does make for a late night but it was worth it!

 Two tired kiddos!
The other night the kids made their own mini pizzas for dinner. We have done this before and it has been a hit!
Afterwards we dipped strawberries and marshmellows in chocolate. I think we all ate too much!
That night everyone went to bed feeling great then about 2am Cohen woke up throwing up. We thought it would only last a couple of hours because last time my kids had this they both threw up twice in the night and then were fine in the morning so we were hoping for that. I had already planned a day at Lagoon for the 24th and I had already bought the tickets so I didn't really want to back out and lose all the money but then I didn't want to go without Cohen because I felt bad to do something fun when he couldn't. So we took him with us and he threw up on the car ride up there and rode two rides up there and threw up again. Luckily Dallas' mom is amazing so Dallas left with Cohen and met his mom half way and she took Cohen home and took care of him for us. Which is so nice of her!
We had gone with a family in our neighborhood and we had a blast. I felt so bad that Cohen wasn't with us but at the same time it was so much fun for me and Dallas to spend time with Kenzley. I don't think she has ever had her parents all to herself. We really enjoyed ourselves and hopefully us adults can go back for the bounce back day and have more fun!
One of the three rides Cohen went on :(
At the beginning of the day we got Kenzley in on this egg ride I knew she would love it. She was an inch too short but the person there didn't say anything so she rode it a couple of times. At the very end of the day as we were leaving she asked to ride it again and the person wouldn't let her. I felt so bad but I was glad she got to do it earlier in the day. Hopefully she will grow one inch for next year! She loved that ride though I took her and she giggled the whole time so I immediately told Dallas he needed to take her! Love her face!

Here is Cohen really not feeling good Poor thing.

Kenzley Ben and Lilly rode the bumper cars a lot they loved it!

I think towards the end she must have been getting bored with it because she just put up her feet and sat there spinning in circles!

Here we are on the haunted mansion ride.
I thought it was so cute that she covered her eyes

Even though Cohen wasn't with us which I felt awful about it was so nice to spend time with just Kenzley. As we were driving home both me and Dallas were surprised how we never had to get mad at Kenzley once the whole day. She was such a good girl and had fun. I guess when you just have one kid it is so much easier and they don't have anyone else to fight with. I always remember how easy and good Cohen was as a baby and now how hard Kenzley can be. But I guess when you only have one they are so much easier!
We also had a blast with the Bouchers. I wish I would have gotten a group picture of all us. I might have to steal hers of us at rattle snake rapids. We had so much fun though! I love when we can hang out with people in our neighborhood not just at church events but other stuff like this! Hopefully us adults can go back in a couple of days and go crazy on all the adult rides!

Here are the videos of Cohen doing a front flip and a belly flop!
